Hiking in Bhutan is special and beautiful trekking, unlike any other place. The scenery and landscape may well be worth compared to all of the other treks in terms of the adventure and the experience that goes along as you hike up. You will experience crystal clear air, sensational views and the air we breathe is the purest and clean air in the whole of the world. Some prefer to spend two or three days traversing the area around the Bumdra Temple. This trek is combined with visiting the most revered Buddhist Pilgrimage spot in Bhutan, Taktsang and Bumdra Monastery. It is also known as ‘the trek of the thousand Dakinis’ (angels). You will get the opportunity to discover the caves where a thousand dakinis had summoned. On the way back from the camp, you will visit a numerous temple including a hilltop nunnery. Throughout your stay, you will be accompanied by a trained guide, a cook, an assistant, at least one horseman and all trek are accommodated in tented campsites

Day 2- Hike from the campsite to Taktsang Monastery via Zangthopelri Monastery

Trek Rating: Moderate- means hard in few places and good fitness required.
Maximum Altitude: 3900-4000 meters
Duration: 3-4 hours to camp & Optional 2-3 hours return trek to the peak

Drive from the hotel to Sang Choekor Buddhist College from where we start hiking with the horses carrying your luggage. Bumdra trek is a beautiful hike with extensive views of the Paro valley, the Himalayan mountain ranges and meadows decorated with prayer flags till you reach the campsite below Bumdra Monastery (3,800 m).
En-route is the Chhoe Tse Lhakhang (temple) nestled on the mountainside with an impressive view of the Paro valley and the snowcapped Himalayas.
After lunch, we can visit the monastery and also hike up to the peak (4000 m) for a better view of the stunning Himalayan Mountains and the valley.
Back to the campsite with a bonfire and well-earned dinner in the midst of an outstanding backdrop.
Day 2- Hike from the campsite to Taktsang Monastery via Zangthopelri Monastery

After a good night rest and breakfast, it is time to hike towards the magical Taktsang monastery / Tiger’s Nest, the most significant icon and must see when in the Kingdom. Before we begin we can spend little extra time soaking up the view and the morning sunrise.
We descend down into the valley through the pine and rhododendron forests on the monks zigzagging trail till you reach the Zangthopelri (Heaven on Earth) Lhakhang which also offers a bird’s eye view of the Tiger’s Nest from above.
A little hike down will bring you to the magnificent Taktsang Monastery and retracing our steps we begin the final descent to the base from where our vehicle will transfer you to your hotel for a well-deserved rest of the day.
